WHAT IS THIS LINE USED FOR?
In the event of an emergency (disaster, weather situation, or other large-scale event), employees will be instructed to call this line to receive a recorded message about WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital's response to the situation and any special instructions for employees.
WHO WILL PREPARE AND RECORD THE MESSAGE?
The Director of Community Relations will prepare the messages, in consultation with the Emergency Management Committee, the Incident Commander or the Administrator on Call. Community Relations will be responsible for recording the messages or will direct another individual to so as appropriate.
HOW WILL EMPLOYEES KNOW WHEN TO CALL THE NUMBER?
The instructions can be given via the hospital's e-mail system, intranet (the hospital's internal website), or the media.
WHO WILL DECIDE WHEN TO POST A MESSAGE?
The Emergency Management Committee or the Incident Commander can initiate the process. An Administrator on Call can also contact Community Relations to request a message posting.
