Difficult life events can exhaust anyone's ability to cope. When personal safety and mental stability become critical questions, intensive, brief hospital care can be an important step toward improved health and well-being. The Behavioral Health Unit at Ephrata Community Hospital provides comprehensive short-term inpatient care for people age 18 and older who are experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms.
Treatment is individualized, blending the following services:
- psychiatric evaluation
- psychiatric nursing assessment
- activities assessment/intervention
- individual/group therapy
- medication management
- family support/education
- social services/assessment/intervention
- Ephrata Community Hospital Medical and Surgical Staff consults when needed
