The Advanced Life Support Units of Ephrata Community Hospital take emergency care out to where it's needed. Like the Emergency Department at Ephrata Community Hospital, these units stand ready to respond, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
The Medic units are equipped with life-saving equipment and staffed by paramedics and nurses who are certified in pre-hospital care. Additional volunteer emergency medical technicians round out the crew. While on the scene, the Medic crew is in communication with the Emergency Department physicians at Ephrata Community Hospital.
Medic units do not transport patients-but they provide invaluable assistance to the crews of the basic life support providers (local ambulance crews) in our area. Together, these people are saving the lives of your friends and family members every day!
